This seasons theater class is designed to teach and increase skills within the performing arts, including acting, singing, and simple choreography, though emersion. Students will be introduced to basic acting & vocal skills to improve the quality of their performing skills at all levels. Students will learn basic acting theory and vocal techniques. All students will be given an opportunity to showcase skills in a recital performance at the end of each session. Theatrical activities include interactive theater games, memorizing monologues, participating in group scene study with stage blocking, learning solo and group musical numbers with basic dance choreography. All skill levels are welcome to participate. If classes are at maximin students will be divided up by age during the 1.5 hour class to accommodate a more focused learning experience.
*Each session is 5 weeks, a total of 16 hours of lessons and 1 hour recital performance.

ANNOUNCEMENT
I'm excited to have Hazel Morales join our team. With Hazel's classical training in music she will be providing music to our program.

Hazel Morales attended California State University, San Bernardino in 2008, where she majored in both Music Education and Vocal Performance. In 2011, she sang understudy roles for Engelbert Humperdinck’s opera “Hansel and Gretel” as both the Dew Fairy and the Sandman. In 2013, she sang as Frida in Robert Xavier Rodriguez’s opera “Frida” and was the soprano soloist for Beethoven’s “Mass in C Major”. In 2018, she sang as the soprano soloist for John Rutter’s “Magnificat” with the VVC Master Arts Chorale, and in 2019, followed the VVC MAC to sing the same piece in Carnegie Hall, New York. In 2021, she joined the vocal jazz group Big Band Theory and performed with the jazz group for 2 years. In 2022, she was welcomed back to CSUSB as a guest vocalist in a quartet to sing alongside the CSUSB orchestra in their Christmas Holiday Gala for two consecutive years. She is currently a private tutor and a children’s choir director for her church
