In addition to rubbing elbows with some of the most talented writers I've ever met, we have four special guest agents/editors from the publishing industry who serve as faculty and sit in on these session. Their input on our manuscripts is always so insightful and phenomenal. Many have ended up getting agents and book deals after the weekend, although that's not the main focus. The idea is that you're able to get insider eyes on your work, in a relaxed non-intimidating environment, so you can produce the most publishable work possible.
I had a blast. I shared yummy meals, laughed while playing games, worked on our stories, socialized with like-minded colleagues for hours about creating story, and made some new friends. It was a fantastic memory making weekend. Griffith Playhouse Class Showcase Mini Musical Hazel Morales and I did it again. We took one of my plays from 10 MINUTE PLAYS FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES and adapted it into a mini musical. The kids presented HOMESICK ARMAND the tale of a little pills bugs adventures trying to make it home to the front yard from the backyard after a finger involuntarily displaces it. The kids did a fantastic job. And as always Hazel upped her game. We're thrilled to have her for one more adaption before the season ends and it will be back to 10 minute plays. Aren't they the cutest little bugs. below is a video we used at the beginning to the play. For a first time video editor I think I did a pretty good job. The music used in the intro clip can be credited to Hazel Morales. |
