SCBWI Writing Retreat

Tahquitz Writers Retreat 

I had the privilege of attending the SCBWI SoCal 2024 Tahquitz retreat on the weekend of May 30th-June 2nd. It was so much fun. I had the best critique group, and the writing was fantastic. It really made me feel like I was in the big league with so many talented writers to work with.

There were so many opportunities to get to know other writers friends better, meet new friends, and socialize with my community. I can’t tell you how important it is as a writer to find that community that supports you. It really makes a difference in improving your writing and keeping you motivated when there is so much that can discourage you in the business. I feel so motivated and really validated in my writing. I feel good about my stories and can't wait to get them out into the world. 

I had the opportunity to meet with both an editor and an agent and get real feedback that will help me with the submission process. Now it’s just about cleaning it up and getting ready to send out.
